Landmark project to deliver 312 Build to rent and 195 co-living homes
Plans are in for a landmark £250m residential scheme of over 500 homes in Sutton, Surrey.
The Press Works project will comprise 312 build to rent and 195 co-living homes located directly opposite Sutton train station.
Subject to approval, development work is scheduled to commence on site in 2026.
The redevelopment will retain and repurpose 56% of the existing structure, an office tower known as Quadrant House previous home to publisher Reed Elsevier.
Significant embodied carbon savings and a fabric-first approach to reducing operational emissions will deliver one of the UK’s most sustainable residential buildings, achieving BREEAM Outstanding, Fitwel 3* and WiredScore Platinum ratings.
The scheme is targeting to provide 35% of the homes designated as affordable housing, all of which will be situated within the Build to Rent element, comprising 43% of the Build to Rent proportion.
Tom Donnachie, MD of UK Investment at Amro Partners, said: “The embodied carbon re-use will make this one of our most sustainable projects to date and we look forward to working closely with the London Borough of Sutton, local charities and residents to deliver a lasting legacy for the town.”
