Housing upkeep specialists Fortem and Equans are facing a fight to retain their places as key maintenance partners for Birmingham’s huge council housing stock.
Both firms have worked on improving the city’s 59,000 housing for the past 16 years.
Now Birmingham City Council is inviting tenders to renew the existing framework in a new deal that could be worth up to £3bn across all four city regions.
The contract for repairs, maintenance, gas servicing, and improvement works will run for 10 years with an option to extend for a further five years.
