Lower Parliament Street London is a scheme involving retaining an 1890s Victorian shop unit and converting this area into part resident communal space, with levels 1, 2, and 3 fitted out with studio accommodation.

The scheme has involved retaining an 1890s Victorian shop unit and converting this area into part resident communal space, with levels 1, 2, and 3 fitted out with studio accommodation.

The Warehouse building was demolished, along with the goods yard being lifted, to allow for a new build that consists of part 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9-storey structures that will provide a mix of communal and accommodation spaces on the ground floor, with a mix of studios and cluster flat residential units above.

The former warehouse will host a number of commercial and residential amenities

In total, the finished dwelling will provide 271 beds of accommodation, made up of 121 self-contained studio units, and the balance will be formed from 6-bed cluster flats sharing a communal kitchen.

Mixed communal space includes a marketplace café bar, a “stage” social area, an array of study rooms, and a bike and bin store.

Ancillary spaces include a staff office, staff welfare, comms rooms, a substation, a generator room, and mechanical and electrical services plant rooms.

Trident’s fire safety specialists were present at every step of the project

Trident has worked alongside the client appointed to this project to review and comment on the supplied documents that the contractors have been preparing to install to ensure they comply with current legislative and guidance documents.

As part of the project our fire safety consultant has conducted site visits to assess the required works, inspect ongoing works and verify completed works with a written photographic report for each visit.

On completion of each visit, the fire safety consultant generated relevant reports and produced a sign-off certificate following the completion of works.
