Farrans lands Leeds Bradford Airport phase 2 upgrade

Contractor takes follow-on refurb job after terminal extension

Leeds Bradford Airport has retained Farrans to undertake Phase 2 of its £100m regeneration project.

Farrans is currently working on the Phase 1 terminal extension, which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2025.

Under the new Phase 2 contract, Farrans will focus on refurbishing the existing terminal, with an expected completion date in winter 2026.

The renovation will be carried out in multiple sub-phases to minimise disruption for customers and ensure that the airport can operate as normally as possible.

Planned improvements include the addition of new staircases, lifts, and escalators to create a more open and welcoming environment that complements the new, brighter terminal extension.

The redesigned internal spaces will enhance passenger flow, and new security and arrivals facilities will be introduced, along with World Duty Free shops and various bars and restaurants.
