Zutec has acquired Operance as it continues to focus on the challenges presented by the Building Safety Act and digital handovers.
Operance grew out of the BIMsense consultancy co-founded by Ian Yeo and Scott Pilgrim in 2016. It now offers expertise in digital handovers, new and existing high-risk building compliance, AI data software and its in-house O&M tool.
Gustave Geisendorf, CEO at Zutec, said: “As we continue investing in businesses as part of our acquisition strategy, Operance fitted our strategic objectives perfectly, with close alignment with our vision and an exciting addition to our business. We believe this collaboration will open up new opportunities for us to expand and better serve existing and new customers, setting the stage for future innovations in the construction and property technology space.”
Yeo, CEO at Operance, added: “Having built up the Operance business, and with a shared growth ambition, we welcome being part of Zutec. As a profitable, fast-growing business primarily focused on the UK and Ireland, this partnership with Zutec will allow us to accelerate our progress faster and provide even more value to the construction and property digital ecosystem as one company.”
Irish acquisition
The Operance acquisition comes a month after Zutec parent BuildData Group acquired DFM Systems, a provider of handover, quality and asset management solutions in the Irish market.
“DFM Systems is a highly regarded business in the Irish market built over 20 years by its managing director, Bobby Gallagher, and the team, who we welcome to our company. I am pleased that Bobby will be joining our senior management team with particular oversight of the Irish market,” said Geisendorf.
In January 2022, BuildData acquired Bond Bryan Digital from Bond Bryan Architects. Bond Bryan Digital was merged with sister BuildData subsidiary Createmaster in September 2023. In April 2024, BuildData brought all its subsidiaries under the Zutec brand.
