McLaren go-ahead for 314 flats Watford scheme

Police station and magistrates court to be demolished

McLaren Living has got the green light to demolish Watford Police Station and Magistrates Court for a 314 build-to-rent homes scheme.

The Clarendon Road project will also feature offices and shops around a new public square to create a new mixed-use urban quarter for Watford.

Designed by architect PRP, the scheme will range over buildings from four storeys to 23 storeys in height, along with a six-storey office block.

In the heart of Watford, McLaren Living’s approved plans will regenerate the 1.75-acre underutilised town centre location close to Watford Junction Station.

Patrick Joyce, Development Director at McLaren Living, said: “We very much look forward to delivering on our plans for Clarendon Road and bringing forward a new mixed-use urban quarter for Watford.

“It is an exciting opportunity to revitalise this part of Clarendon Road and to deliver much needed homes, workspace, a new garden square and public realm on an underutilised town centre site.”
