The SBM Remax 600 mobile impact crusher uses artificial intelligence (AI) to produce aggregate and weighs up to 75 tons
The UK’s first AI mobile impact crusher will be showcased at the Hillhead trades show in Buxton in late June.
Darlington-based construction and quarrying specialists Banner Contracts have bought the first SBM Remax 600 mobile impact crusher, first debuted in Germany in 2023.
Created by Austrian manufacturer SBM Mineral Processing, part of MPL Group, the crusher uses AI and sensors to adapt the machine.
SBM head of sales Helmut Haider said that three years of intensive research and development had gone into the crusher, paving the way for AI-based autonomous crushing.
The crusher can offer up to five fractions in one cycle
The Remax 600 can be set up rapidly on site with a hydraulic folding feed hopper and hybrid diesel-electric/fully electric drive system with optional mains connection.
With pre-screening, triple air classifying and high efficiency magnetic separation, the Remax 600 can produce up to 600 tonnes/h at a maximum feed size of 900mm, with high purity of end product aggregate- particularly in recycling.
SBM testing have seen average fuel consumption rates of 34-36 litres/h and average electricity consumption between 14-200kWh.
