Time is running out to book your place at the Women in BIM London conference on 4 July. The agenda includes sessions on AI and speakers from the likes of Aecom, Arup, Mace and ISG.
The day kicks off with a keynote address, entitled Broken to Bionic, and then an interactive workshop delivered by Shona Hirons, founder of Mindset in Motion. She is a behaviour, fitness and nutrition coach who has transformed her personal journey of adversity into a message of resilience, purpose and hope.
In the ensuing sessions, Plannerly co-founder Akos Hamar will imagine construction’s future, while nima vice-chair Fiona Moore will address how real change can be achieved in digital construction. Also, Mace digital engineering and BIM manager Mariangela Toscano will explain what digital innovation leaders do differently.
The first AI session asks: “AI is moving so fast, can you afford to take a wait-and-see approach?” Chaired by Autodesk technical solutions manager James Austin, the session’s panel includes Aecom data science lead Drew Waller and KOPE head of industry strategy, Charlotte Frances-Garrett.
Data resilience and passports
The afternoon agenda opens with a session on data resilience delivered by Dr Karen Blay, director of EDI and senior lecturer in digital construction/quantity surveying at Loughborough University.
This is followed by a presentation focused on technology integration from Construflow chief operation officer and partner Mariana Panitz Ramalho, before a session on material passports from Allies and Morrison BIM coordinator Gabriela Martinez.
Generative AI is then the focus of a panel session chaired by Eleco non-executive director James Pellatt. The panel includes:
Aecom senior BIM manager/BIM lead Lilian Ho;
Hydrock (Stantec) technical director, digital safety Lewis Cullinane; and
ISG digital construction manager Francesca Lofiego.
The conference finishes with:
the reveal of the key insights from Women in BIM’s global work survey;
the afternoon keynote, entitled “The talent of survival”, given by Baroness Helen Newlove, Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales; and
Arup senior leadership consultant and personal performance coach Lee Evans.
