Diamond drilling specialist set to hit £40m turnover

London based LDD Construction is set to top the £40m turnover barrier in its latest financial year.

The diamond drilling specialist will also see its order book hit the £50m mark as workloads continue to recover across the capital.

LDD also specialises in passive fire protection, BWIC and soft strip work and had traditionally focused on the London fit out and commercial buildings markets.

Growth in the year to June 2024 has been given a major boost by a large cut and carve project in Canary Wharf while LDD reported a rejuvenated airport sector  bringing contracts in Heathrow, Gatwick, and Manchester.

The firm has also opened a new office in East Anglia to target the life sciences sector.

LDD owner Ziggy Seagroatt said the data centre market is also thriving with the firm undertaking three large fire protection packages on jobs across west London.

The contract boom has seen LDD oversee a work force of nearly 500 people currently across its jobs.

Seagroatt said: “This is a fantastic achievement with our order book for the next financial year looking even better and it has put LDD back in a really strong financial position, after what has been a challenging few years for the business after Covid.

“This past year we have worked tirelessly bringing-in better talent across our divisions which has really started to pay off. Our Fire Protection Business has gone from strength to strength especially in the airport and data centre sectors.

“Also we have opened up a new office in East Anglia due to increasing demand in the Life Science Sector.

“Norfolk seems to be a thriving area with us picking up two big projects in Kings Lynn and Norwich both from existing clients from London.”
