Douglas OHI starts prepping for Oman’s biggest desalination plant

Omani construction firm Douglas OHI has begun building temporary offices and utility infrastructure for the Ghubrah 3 Desalination Plant in Oman, set to be the sultanate’s largest.

Designed and built by GS Inima, Ghubra 3 will supply potable water to 2.5 million inhabitants of Muscat.

It will treat 300,000 cu m a day, increasing to 315,000 cu m a day during peak demand periods.

“Our team is fully committed to ensuring the successful execution of this project,” said Douglas OHI group managing director Aaron Hennessy FCIOB, referring to the company’s extensive experience in power and water projects.

General manager Michael Hall MCIOB said: “This endeavour epitomises the essence of Douglas OHI’s work.”
