Finance Manager
Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience + benefits
Expected hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 17:00, Friday 8:30 to 12:30)
Location: Whitworth, Rochdale
Northern Joinery was founded in 1958 and we are a manufacturer of bespoke timber staircases, supplying the housebuilding industry across the UK. We employ about 50 people at our site in Whitworth, just north of Rochdale.
We have an opening for an AAT qualified Finance Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of a well-established business.
This role reports to the Finance Director and would suit a finance manager with solid generalist experience or an accounts executive looking for the next step in their career, where they can develop their skills and expertise across the whole range of a finance function, from bookkeeping to tax and financial reporting.
Role responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and general accounts/finance administration
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Management of payroll and VAT
Bank reconciliations
Month End tasks
About you:
Our ideal candidate will be AAT qualified with previous experience in SMEs, with an enjoyment of using various IT systems and providing high quality financial information.
We are also looking for:
AAT qualifications (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Great IT skills, including MS Excel
Experience using MS Business Central desirable
Ability to work on own initiative and find solutions to problems
Great time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
Able to work flexibly e.g. to allow for payroll and month end tasks
