Van Elle and M&J Evans team-up for housing works

Piling specialist Van Elle has signed a strategic collaboration deal with leading groundworks contractor M&J Evans to deliver a combined service to house builders nationally.

The first new scheme under the arrangement will be Keepmoat’s £102m regeneration project at the former Boot site in Nottingham where the developer aims to build over 600 homes.

Van Elle announced it had signed a £3m deal to deliver foundations across several phases of the scheme, making it the largest single scheme awarded to its housing division in the last 12 months.

This project will act as a blueprint for the new strategic collaboration between Van Elle and M&J Evans where the two firms will offer a more efficient, joined-up delivery model.

Van Elle also announced this morning that it had completed a capacity expansion project at its Kirkby-in-Ashfield precast pile factory, Nottinghamshire.

The expanded factory, which is capable of 24-hour manufacturing and utilises low carbon blended concrete mixes, sits alongside the Smartfoot precast beam factory.

The investment increases production capacity by nearly a third, positioning the business well to benefit from the expected growing demand in the housing sector over the mid-term.

Chief executive Mark Cutler said:  “We are encouraged by the new Government’s commitment to accelerate the delivery of new build housing.

“We are ready to support incremental demand with our expanded capacity and breadth of expertise.

“Although we anticipate house building volumes to remain subdued in the immediate future, orders in housing for the year to date are up 20% compared to last year. ”
