Railway stations to get 3D printed toilets

A 3D concrete printing specialist has developed a toilet pod designed to be installed at UK railways stations.

Worcestershire based specialist Changemaker 3D has teamed-up with consultant Baily Garner and Dutch technology partner CyBe Construction to develop the pods.

They consist of three separate, modular wall elements, all of which can be printed in under five hours.

The pods have been tested at  the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation and are now ready to be commissioned at UK railway stations in urgent need of new facilities.

Natalie Wadley, co-founder and CEO of ChangeMaker 3D said: “We’re well on our way now to demonstrate the value the technology can have across UK industries. We want to see that this becomes as commonplace as having a digger or a forklift.”
