Craig Tatton to take over as Tilbury Douglas CEO

Current Tilbury Douglas chief executive officer(CEO) Paul Gandy will step down in November as he prepares to become president of the Chartered Institute of Building

Chief operating officer Craig Tatton will take over as CEO of Tilbury Douglas, effective on 1 November 2024.

Tatton first joined the company- then part of the Interserve group- in 2017 and was made chief operating officer in 2022 with an eye to take on the CEO role at a later date. Earlier in his career, he took on leadership roles at Bouygues UK, Willmott Dixon and ISG.

Paul Gandy will continue to be a part-time advisor to the Tilbury Douglas board

Having previously worked for Kier, Balfour Beatty, Lendlease and Carillion, Gandy joined Interserve in 2019 and played a key role in the relaunch of the Tilbury Douglas brand in 2021.

Gandy said: “It has been a real privilege to have led the turnaround of Tilbury Douglas and have seen the business growing again from a solid foundation. I thank all my colleagues, our board and our shareholders for their hard work and encouragement during that time.”

Gandy will become the 122nd president of the Chartered Institute of Building in 2025.

A new CEO marks a new phase for Tilbury Douglas

Tatton added: “Our business is poised ready for its next phase, steadily broadening our portfolio of services for customers, whilst working alongside our suppliers, to enable growth of careers, profits and cash.
