Skanska and Ecco III Enterprises win $848m deal to expand New York reservoir

A joint venture led by Skanska has won a $848m contract from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) to expand the Hillview Reservoir in Yonkers.

Skanska has 75% of the joint venture, equivalent to $630m, with local contractor Ecco III Enterprises owning the rest.

Work will include adding electrical services, a control and data acquisition system, as well as water quality monitoring equipment.

The North Entrance of the reservoir’s control room will be refurbished, and two chemical storage buildings will be added.

Work on the project is due to be completed in April 2030.
