Digital Construction Week adds Manchester show

The organisers of Digital Construction Week (DCW) have launched a second show, Digital Construction North (DCN), that will take place at Manchester Central on 13 November 2024.

DCN will deliver “a flavour of DCW in a fresh one-day format and with new content that can’t be accessed elsewhere,” according to the organisers. This includes keynote presentations, hands-on demonstrations, launches, live podcast recordings and more.

Event director, Ollie Hughes said: “We currently see more international visitors attending DCW than we do from the north of the UK. We know that travel and time is a huge commitment, so we’re excited to bring you a showcase of AECO innovation that’s accessible right on your doorstep.

“With the North’s focus on levelling-up, construction in the region is thriving with some incredible projects underway. We’re really excited to be part of this by offering a platform for the industry to showcase innovation, get together and share ideas.”

Mark Taylor, associate director of digital construction at Buro Happold and a member of the DCN steering group, added: “The North of England boasts a vibrant ecosystem of SMEs and start-ups, where digital transformation is pivotal for business growth and innovation.

“It’s really exciting to see DCW, an advocate for AECO industry transformation, coming to the North putting a spotlight on the region’s commitment to embracing digital.”

Showcasing northern excellence

Dr Melanie Robinson, associate at BIM Academy and another member of the steering group, added: “There is a lot of great work being done, not just in the North, but by those in the North, and an initiative like DCN would play a great part in showcasing this.”

A central exhibition will feature more than 50 leading built environment brands showcasing the latest solutions for digital twins, AR, information management, automation and AI, drones and robotics.

Five theatres will be located around the show floor, running free-to-attend talks, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. More than 75 industry experts are set to speak. An exclusive keynote talk will also take place in the main auditorium.

Due to venue capacity at Manchester Central, tickets for DCN will be limited.
