The 2025 Secured by Design (SBD) ATLAS conference and exhibition marked a significant milestone, with a record number of SBD member company exhibitors presenting their security solutions at this distinguished policing event
Driven by a shared commitment to safer communities, seventy exhibitors presented their innovations to a highly influential audience – over 200 expert Designing Out Crime and Crime Prevention Officers, senior police figures from across the UK, and prominent guest speakers, forging crucial partnerships in crime prevention- at ATLAS 2025.
In a world where security threats are constantly evolving, SBD’s ATLAS conference is the essential lifeline for DOCOs and CPOs.
Since the mid-1990s, it’s been the annual rendezvous where frontline experts dive deep into the latest standards, regulations, and technological advancements.
It’s a dynamic exchange of knowledge, spanning the UK and beyond, ensuring UK policing and the security sector’s crime prevention strategies remain cutting-edge.
This year’s conference once again had a government update from the Minister of State for Crime, Police and Fire, with five workshop sessions over the three-day event, which included focuses on Physical and Digital security – making sense of an evolving landscape; Safer Parks – Improving Access for Women and Girls; and What should we be doing to deliver safe new homes?
Every SBD member company exhibiting their SBD accredited products had the opportunity to meet each delegate, explaining in detail how their Police Preferred Specification solutions translate into tangible crime reduction and community safety improvements.
Beyond the exhibition floor, ATLAS 2025 celebrated real-world impact
Eleven developments, spanning residential, commercial, healthcare, and youth spaces, earned prestigious SBD Development Awards, showcasing excellence in security design. And the recognition didn’t stop there – ten dedicated officers were also honoured with individual awards and commendations, highlighting their exceptional contributions to designing out crime and crime prevention.
Guy Ferguson, CEO of Police CPI, said: “Year after year, ATLAS reaffirms its unique spirit. It’s more than just a conference, it’s a vital gathering where our dedicated Designing Out Crime and Crime Prevention Officers connect, share insights, and strengthen bonds with colleagues and SBD member companies. This collaborative atmosphere, a true sense of community, fuels our collective learning and mutual support. The well-deserved awards are a testament to the remarkable work being done to safeguard our communities.
“And as we navigate the evolving landscape of crime prevention, ATLAS remains essential, ensuring we’re equipped to face future challenges. This year’s record-breaking event, a resounding success, wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable contributions of our speakers, delegates, workshop leaders, and member companies”.
