BBC bricklaying firm files administration notice

A construction firm featured in a BBC series about young bricklayers has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.

BBC Three’s docuseries  Brickies ran for two seasons from 2022/23 following the lives of young recruits at Hodgkinson Builders.

But now the Derby based contractor has filed an administration notice.

Hodgkinson Builders was founded in 1990 and began as a small family run bricklaying business specialising in commercial brickwork projects.

The company has progressed into the new build residential housing sector and now also works with a range of registered affordable housing providers to provide homes.

Founder and managing director Ian Hodgkinson is also a project manager on BBC One’s DIY SOS.
