The city of Balneário Camboriú in southeast Brazil has approved the construction of the 544m-tall Triumph Tower, which, if completed, would be the world’s tallest residential building.
It’s set to be located on the Barra Sul waterfront, already home to some of South America’s tallest buildings, including the two 294m Yachthouse towers and the 290m One Tower.
The project is being developed by FG Empreendimentos, a company co-founded by local businessman Jean Graciola.
“The future is great and we are ready to build it,” he told the NSC newspaper.
He added that no official renderings of the tower had been released, but that it would have 100 floors and a gross floor area of about 150,000 sq m.
Balneário Camboriú, in Santa Catarina state, is a major tourist destination, and its population of 150,000 swells to about a million during the summer.
