Concrete firm Cidon set for £60m turnover

Yorkshire concrete subcontractor Cidon is set to hit £60m revenue this year after securing several heavy civil contracts and opening a new office in the North West.

Since switching to an Employee Ownership Trust model in 2021, the Cidon Group raised turnover to £43m in 2023 following successful delivery of £58m worth of large energy for waste facilities in the Midlands, North West and Scotland.

The Barnsley-based firm has continued its growth into the North West, opening an office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire appointing Darren Hynes as regional director.

Group managing director Stephen Simpson said: “We are confident that in this financial year our continued growth will take our turnover above £60m.

“We have some incredible people working for Cidon and our experience and technical ability is proven, particularly in the energy and heavy civils sector.”

Cidon has recently secured a place on the KDP8 framework as a strategic supply partner to Key Delivery Partner Sir Robert McAlpine as part of the Sellafield PPP model.

This will deliver a steady income stream for years and open a new sector for the business.

Cidon will shortly start piling for foundations for Sheffield’s £100m CODE development on Wellington Street.

The 32 floors high rise involves building three blocks to created over 1,000 flats.
