Eleven seal £400m Essex construction framework

Essex County Council has pared down its partner firms from 18 to 11 for its third-generation construction framework.

Newcomer Cadman Construction and previous partners Kier, Morgan Sindall and R G Carter secured places on the major project lot for building and maintenance jobs valued over £4m.

BAM, Graham and Willmott Dixon, which have spots on the second-generation deal, have dropped out of the new line-up.

£4m-plus projects (total value: £190m)

Cadman Construction; Kier Construction; Morgan Sindall; R G Carter (Southern)

Jobs valued: £500k to £4m (total value: £108m)

Cadman Construction; Morgan Sindall; Phelan Construction; R G Carter (Southern); SEH French

Minor works: Up to £750k (total value: £102m)

H&R Strood Contracts; Horizon Construction; M & J Group (Construction & Roofing); Re-Gen (UK) Construction; Sde Contracts

The framework will provide design and construction services for education and other capital construction and major maintenance projects and will be available to other contracting authorities.
