Galliford Try has secured two big Government contracts for an immigration centre in Oxfordshire and the next phase expansion of the defence intelligence estate at RAF Wyton, together worth £101m.
First, the group’s Building Southern business has reached financial close with the Home Office for a £70m project to reopen Campsfield House immigration removal centre in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
The project will see the construction of a 400-bedroom immigration removal centre for men which forms part of the Government’s plan to expand the detention estate by a third.
Secondly, the Building East Midlands business has been appointed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to undertake the £31m PRIDE 2 project at RAF Wyton at St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
The scheme consists of a combination of refurbishment and creation of new secure office space for UK Strategic Command.
