Go-ahead for 37-storey Moda tower in Birmingham

Moda Living and Calthorpe Estates have gained planning to build more than 460 flats in a 37-storey block in Birmingham.

Bowmer + Kirkland is tipped to take the job, which will form the second phase of the 11-acre New Garden Square masterplan, which will feature over 2,000 homes and £6m of public realm.

A vacant office building, No. 1 Duchess Place, will be demolished to make way for the building, which is set to be the tallest in the Hagley Road neighbourhood in Edgbaston.

The latest block will tower above Winvic’s phase one project known as the The Mercian.

The project, which is expected to move to construction in February, will include  a roof terrace, 24-hour gym, co-working space and resident lounges.
