Hill to regenerate Coventry estate with 750 new homes

Housing association Citizen has picked The Hill Group as its delivery partner to regenerate the Spon End housing estate in Coventry.

The estate redevelopment to the west of Coventry city centre will see the demolition of three existing blocks and 750 new homes built over the next 10 years.

Around a third of the new energy-efficient homes will be affordable homes.

Kevin Roach, Director of Regeneration Services at Citizen, said: “Hill has been chosen because of its vast experience in the sector for building homes, particularly high-rise buildings, that are of a high quality but more importantly because of their strong reputation of working with communities to successfully regenerate and transform the area.

Andy Fancy, regional managing director for Hill, said that as part of the plans, access to the River Sherbourne would be improved and car parking in the area would be increased. Citizen will submit a planning application to Coventry City Council later this summer.

If the plans are approved, Hill will begin the demolition of Kerry House, Milestone House, and Trafalgar House this autumn, with building work on the first phase due to begin in spring 2025.
