A joint venture of Cimic subsidiary Leighton Asia and Indian company Sterling and Wilson has been selected to fit out a data centre in Hyderabad, India, by a multinational technology company wishing to remain anonymous.
The scope of work involves fitting out the data centre with civil, structural and architectural works, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection services and security systems, plus architectural finishes, installation, construction and assembly.
The project has an Indian Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold target.
Juan Santamaria, Cimic’s executive chairman, said: “We have a growing data centre portfolio across Asia, as we capture the strong opportunities in this sector.
“Growing use of artificial intelligence, the need for faster processing, remote work and learning, and other market demands will continue to drive market growth in advanced technology.”
Construction starts this month and is due to be completed in the last quarter of 2025.
