OCU snaps up water engineering design consultant

Expanding utilities infrastructure specialist OCU Group has bought design consultant Purestream.

Based in London and the South East, Purestream is know for its expertise in water design and engineering, environmental process technology and equipment.

The acquisition marks a further significant enhancement of OCU’s design and engineering capability, adding Purestream’s water design expertise to OCU’s existing industry-leading energy and wider utilities design expertise.

Michael Hughes, CEO of OCU Group, said: “This acquisition marks another key milestone in the enhancement of OCU’s water market capability, following the recent appointment of Hugh McCrossan as managing director of our Water division and our investment in the UK’s largest pipe pusher.

“The addition of Purestream also supports OCU’s ambition to attract, train, and develop the UK’s best-emerging engineers, particularly in the water sector, which is set to receive £80 billion in investment, as outlined in Ofwat’s interim determination earlier this year.”
