Primech AI Pte. Ltd. last week said it has integrated an NVIDIA system on module, or SoM, in its latest HYTRON bathroom cleaning robot. The Singapore-based company said this enhancement demonstrates its commitment to using cutting-edge technology to refine and advance its robotics offerings.

“By integrating NVIDIA’s advanced technology into our HYTRON robot, we are setting a new standard for robotic cleaning performance and efficiency,” stated Charles Ng, chief operating officer of Primech AI. “NVIDIA’s technology enables us to achieve remarkable efficiency and precision, further distinguishing our HYTRON robots in the market.”

The HYTRON mobile manipulator is designed to clean bathrooms in airports, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, and office buildings. It uses artificial intelligence to navigate tight spaces and conduct multiple tasks, according to Primech. The service robot completed its first commercial trials in September 2024, and the company said it received positive customer feedback.

HYTRON uses NVIDIA technologies to clean

The new HYTRON model incorporates NVIDIA Jetson Orin Super, an SoM designed for robust edge AI and robotics applications. Thanks to its compact size and AI capabilities, the SoM is energy-efficient and provides “superior” processing at the edge, said Primech AI.

This enables HYTRON to deliver enhanced performance and reliability in autonomous toilet cleaning, the company claimed. In addition to NVIDIA’s hardware, HYTRON uses a suite of NVIDIA software, including:

  • CUDA: This parallel computing platform and programming model enables HYTRON to use NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) for complex computations, dramatically enhancing processing speed and efficiency.
  • CuDNN: The CUDA Deep Neural Network library accelerates deep learning neural networks, allowing HYTRON to benefit from advanced AI algorithms that improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.
  • TensorRT: This software development kit (SDK) optimizes neural networks for deployment on NVIDIA GPUs, boosting HYTRON’s inference capabilities, reducing latency, and enhancing overall responsiveness, said Primech AI.
  • NVIDIA Driver: Ensures seamless communication between the operating system and the GPU, enabling robust performance across all tasks.

Primech AI plans market expansion

“With the integration of NVIDIA technology, Primech AI is poised to expand its market presence and continue its mission of revolutionizing the cleaning industry through technological innovation,” said the company. It has participated in NVIDIA’s Inception program for startups.

Last month, Primech AI signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Golden Rim Investment Ltd., which owns three hotels in Japan with about 260 rooms. The MoU provides for the pilot deployment of HYTRON in hotels in Hakata, Kagoshima, and Sapporo.

The global cleaning market is projected to reach approximately $74 billion by 2025, noted Primech AI. It plans to launch HYTRON in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai in 2025. That will be followed by Australia in 2026 and the rest of the world in 2027.

Primech AI is a subsidiary of Primech Holdings Ltd., a leading provider of technology-driven facilities services. They include commercial and residentail cleaning, stewarding services, and marble polishing and facade cleaning.
