Southern Housing to rationalise supply chain following merger

Southern Housing Group is planning to renew its housing delivery partner frameworks following a merger with Optivo around 18 months ago.

The expanded social housing landlord now owns over 80,000 homes and serves 167,000 residents across London, the South East, the Midlands and the Isle of Wight.

Refurbishment and new build works are currently delivered through around 20 contracts, with works split by element and geographical area.

The housing association said it hopes to rationalise this with a new set of framework agreements due to go out to tender in February 2025.

Ahead of this date, the housing association is planning to carry out market engagement with suppliers to inform packaging of works, incentivisation mechanisms, and a more collaborative approach and integrated supply chain.

Southern Housing said the new collaborative framework would reward firms for a strong performance against set targets.

It said: “We want to build a relationship with contractors based on collaborative and partnership working principles and an integrated supply chain approach that supports service improvement, innovation and added value through an incentivisation and performance mechanism, linked to KPI’s, that enables the contractor to be rewarded for great performance and helping us to achieve our strategic objectives.”

Firms can register an interest on the My tender website ref:232366.
