Ukraine makes it easier for foreign companies to build

Ukraine has simplified the way foreign companies can obtain construction permits, according to an independent investment organisation set up by the state in 2016.

Previously, those looking to build in Ukraine would have to seek a construction permit, whereas now they can submit a declaration for economic activity to a permanent licensing authority for free.

The regulatory change was made following a meeting of Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy chaired by the deputy prime minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The change will allow for work on border checkpoints by Polish companies on the border between Ukraine and Poland, which was previously unfeasible.

These have been funded by a loan between the Polish and Ukrainian governments in 2015.
