Dutch architect UNStudio and Brazilian developer Eztec have announced the completion of two towers in São Paulo, which they describe as a “new form of living”.
The EZ Parque da Cidade project is located, as the name suggests, in a linear park. It has 244 units divided between a 39 and a 36-storey building. There is also a “sky bar”, as well as an entertainment lounge, restaurant, gyms, swimming pools, squash room, tennis court, massage rooms and sauna.
“Pavilions in the Park” are located at ground level and will encourage health living with spaces to exercise, relax and work.
The buildings have a windmill-shaped floorplan that means each flat has three-sided views, as well as an outdoor terrace.
The development contains 124 spaces for bikes, a bicycle repair workshop and 92 electric charging points for EVs.
All materials used for construction were locally sourced and the concrete used a hybrid mix made of industrial byproducts. Other green features are a solar water-heating system, rainwater collection and an underground vacuum waste system.
Ben van Berkel, UNStudio’s founder, said: “From the innovative floorplans that enhance residents’ comfort, to the lush green skygardens and an overall energy-efficiency approach, every aspect of this project is designed to improve urban living.
“Being the first development in South America to receive LEED-ND Neighbourhood pre-certification for its impact on the neighbourhood in terms of community, health and local sustainability underscores our commitment and sets a new standard for future developments in Brazil.”
