Utility services contractor Ipsum has acquired Wootton & Wootton, a Shrewsbury-based specialist in transmission and distribution engineering.

This acquisition enhances Ipsum’s capabilities in electrical cable systems, which extend up to 275kV.

The location of Wootton & Wootton in Shropshire will allow Ipsum to better serve clients in the Midlands and Wales.

Andrew Cowan, CEO of Ipsum, said, “This acquisition represents a strategic step forward in our Power division, allowing us to combine our strengths and create a powerhouse of expertise. This move not only expands our market presence but also enables us to better serve our existing client base.”

In addition, Ipsum offers electrical, mechanical, and health and safety training and assessments for the workforce in the Power sector through its in-house training service.
