Vinci/McAlpine go-ahead for £312m Midlands hospitals revamp

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has got the green light to start work on its £312m hospitals transformation programme.

Vinci and McAlpine joint venture Integrated Health Projects is the design and construction partner for the project to transform acute hospital services.

The JV has been carrying out preparatory works at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site. The NHS Trust has now gained full business case approval allowing, IHP to move to full construction.

Under the plans, the Princess Royal Hospital site will specialise in planned care and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site will specialise in emergency care.
