Warning after scammers pose as plant hire bosses

Plant hire giant Flannery has issued a fraud warning after scammers posed as company directors in a bid to swindle cash out of customers.

The fraudsters have been sending out bogus emails from similar sounding addresses to the company’s official domain requesting payments.

Some customers have also received “vulgar” phone calls from scammers pretending to be directors of Flannery.

The company warned: “We have observed several instances where electronic means have been used to attempt to undermine our trust and reputation within the industry.

“These tactics exhibit a concerning degree of insight into our operations.

“While we cannot specify the source, it remains a powerful reminder of the presence of those who might utilise familiar knowledge for questionable purposes.

“Please be assured that we are monitoring these activities closely and taking appropriate measures. We urge all clients and partners to remain extra vigilant.”
