Willmott Dixon wins £32m Leighton Buzzard leisure job

Central Bedfordshire Council has selcetd Willmott Dixon to build its new leisure centre in Leighton Buzzard for nearly £32m.

The company will start construction of the Leighton Leisure and Community Centre at the Clipstone Park site in October.

Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre remaining open until the new centre is complete in Summer 2026 to ensure residents have continuous access to leisure facilities.

The new leisure centre will include a large gym, an eight-lane 25m pool, a learner pool and a confidence pool.

Stewart Brundell, managing director at Willmott Dixon in the Northern Home Counties region, said the leisure centre was designed to minimise energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
