Zaha Hadid Architects designs casino, nightclub and yacht club in the Bahamas

Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has unveiled its design for a casino, nightclub and yacht club an as-yet-unbuilt residential community in the Bahamas.

The Porto Habacoa marina will have an undulating roof inspired by waves and angled to direct cooling sea breezes throughout the interior.

The yacht club will be cocooned by gardens and will contain a members’ restaurant and bar, open-air terraces and an event hub.

The adjoined casino and nightclub will have two lobbies in a “virtually transparent design”. The 5,000 sq ft gaming floor will be connected with the marina and covered outdoor spaces.

Ra’anan Ben-Zur, Habacoa’s chief executive, said: “These new details allow us to share more about the development in a yet-to-be-seen perspective. This project will truly redefine super-yachting and luxury living, creating an upscale, sophisticated lifestyle.”

A press release says Habacoa will use renewable energy sources and materials.

When the marina opens in 2027, it will contain  250 homes, 134 berths and a 150-berth marina for boats measuring up to 200m. It is located in the South Abaco district of the northern Bahamas.
